I am new to freelancing and found this book to be very helpful. I would think even those writers who have been pitching for years could come away with some useful and encouraging information. Diana's writing style is enjoyable. Her information is on-point, practical, and concise, and I was really pleased to find that the information wasn't redundant. I hate it when authors recycle information throughout or repeat to pad the book. When you finish this short e-book, you will understand what makes a great query. Great buy! Highly recommend.

I'm not a freelance writer, but I translate and found this helpful to help me pitch articles I want to translate and get published.
A quick read with lots of practical tips on researching and writing better queries-written from an in-the-trenches perspective by an experienced freelance writer. Can't wait to get my queries out and into editors' hands-I'm feeling more confident after having read this!
This book is fantastic for freelancers of all levels. If you are just starting out pitching to magazines, you can avoid a lot of the mistakes many writers before you have made. You’ll get traction for your career a lot faster and hopefully avoid the sluggish/non-starting type of career that causes others to throw their hands up in despair and try a different kind of job.

I am one of those who threw my hands up in the air and tried another line of work. But I am back trying to freelance just because I love writing so much. And this book is a goldmine to help me avoid some mistakes I did not realize I had been making! One pet peeve I always had was being told to “read the magazine” or “research your market.” I thought I had been doing an adequate job, but this book showed me exactly what holes I had in my research strategy.

I took the author’s Story Idea class and found this book really adds to what I gained from that class. It is a great reference tool that I will refer to again and again as I write my queries.
This is a great book for those that are serious about their writing career. Her no-nonsense approach to writing great queries makes it easier for the newbies and yet even the veteran writers as well. I have purchased books from her in the past and she is a great teacher. I am not getting anything for writing this review. I just belive this book that good for those want to learn about writing great queries. Hope this helps your decision to buy.
Great advice!
I loved this book. It's beyond a beginner's book, although the info is great for beginning freelancers. I can't wait to put my new knowledge to work for me. It's a short book but has lots of useful information.
