Our Hero in our book is Jeff Lucas who is the beloved brother of James Lucas – the co-author of this book and Jeff Lucas was a Navy Seal who was determined to never fail. Jeff was tragically killed during a rescue mission of other Navy Seals in the Afghan mountains June 28, 2005. We choose Jeff as our hero in this book because he was a true hero in life - and we wanted to honor his memory and never forget that he gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom and peace – always wanting to help others and serve others to the ultimate level. I am truly amazed! Finally, someone has published a no nonsense, easy to understand book about saving lives with an AED that is child friendly. For less than $10.00, any child can have a basic understanding of what an AED is, how it functions, and what it's important role is in saving a life. I particularly like the fact that the author teaches a game on how to find the AED in public establishments, and the importance of finding the cell phone to make the call to 911 to get help on the way. I am really impressed. This book needs to be purchased for anyone with children. It could very well be YOUR life that is saved with this knowledge. I think school teachers should get on board and make a point of sharing this book with their students. Thank you for providing a great AED book at a child's level of understanding!Product details

This is "the" cheat code that every gamer (that was a kid in the '80s and '90s) knows by heart. How hard is "Keep calm and turn the AED on."?
We received a paper copy of An Adventure with ED the AED back in Sep/Oct 2012. Soon after we found out an 18 year old girl that we knew from swim team had been saved by an AED. She was at school and just passed out. Luckily, the school nurse was immediately available, there was an AED available and people knew how to use it. The school principal and school nurse are credited with saving Heidi Stewart's life. Heidi was clinically dead for 8 minutes.
This is supposed to be a book review. It is well written, I love the illustrations and the message is clear. Keep calm, call 9-1-1 and turn the AED on.
I used to have a "tough guy" job; I tear up every time I get to the page that shows Jamie the firefighter teaching Jeff and his classmates to start looking for AEDs everywhere.

What a delightful book! I enjoyed it myself, and will start noticing where "Ed' is in the public places I go. I think more than just my grandkids can benefit from this. Great job, Jamie and Indy. ;-)
It's an amazing book that takes the fear out of using an AED. Great book for both adults and children!
The people who made this book are great people and the book is so informative even as a kids book would recommend it to anyone wanting to learn and have there children learn how to use the machine to save people's lives
